- Have fun!
This is first and foremost the most important rule. If you're not having fun then you probably shouldn't be here. If you aren't allowing others to have fun then you shouldn't be here either. - Be polite and respectful.
You don't have to learn to say "please" and "thank you" in 12 languages. Just don't be a jerk. That's all we ask. Instead of saying, "Hey, jackass, I wanted the Rocket Launcher!" try saying, "Hey, dude, can I use the Rocket Launcher next time?" - Be helpful.
We don't expect you to be Mr. Rogers here, but maybe you can give the newbies a break. Instead of yelling at them, why not take them under your wing for a round or two and show them the ropes? You'll get a great rep, and you'll be helping the whole community. - Be funny.
We all appreciate an easy going, funny gamer. Humor is one of the best things about playing with other human beings, as opposed to A.I. Talking smack during games is allowed and is in fact encouraged! Just keep it clean and don't single one person out for humiliation. There's only one Eddie Murphy … and you aren't him. - Be cool.
Just chill. Don't get all riled up about stuff. Even if you've got serious skills, no one will want to play with you if you pitch a hissy fit any time things don't go your way. It's supposed to be fun, remember? - Be yourself.
We love our diverse gaming community. It is a fascinating collection of people of all ages, backgrounds, nationalities, sense of humor, professions, etc. We all have at least one thing in common: We love to game. So be yourself-your cool, collected, respectful self. - Clean up after yourself.
You are allowed to eat and drink VGS refreshments at your gaming station as long as you are careful. - Please wash your hands after eating.
This will keep machines working properly and your game playing more enjoyable. And please refrain from putting your smudge prints all over the consoles and TV screens! - Please take care of our equipment and furniture.
If you break it, you buy it. Please don't disconnect any of our peripherals or mess with any of the wires. If you use headsets, controllers, or game discs, please return the item(s) to the front counter before you leave. You are financially responsible for the controllers, games, accessories that you use. - When arriving and leaving, please respect the other businesses in the area including their customers. Only use the front doors to enter and exit the store. The other doors are for emergency and staff use only.
- Be Responsible.
VideoGame Stadium is not responsible for any of your personal items that may be lost or stolen. Please know where your personal belongings are at all times and do not leave them unattended. - Smile!
From time to time we will take photos of VideoGame Stadium events or general game play to use in advertising, promotional materials or our website. By accepting these rules you permit the use and display of said photographs in any publication, multimedia production, display, advertisement or World-Wide Web Publication for VideoGame Stadium, Inc. You also agree that VideoGame Stadium, Inc. may use your likeness and release and forever discharge VideoGame Stadium , its agents, officers and employees from any and all claims and demands arising out of or in connection with the use of said photographs / images, including but not limited to, any claims for invasion of privacy or defamation.
- Do not loiter (hang out), skateboard, or play ball anywhere on the outside premises of the facility. This includes the front, side, and back sidewalks and parking lot. The only time you should be outside is when you are arriving or leaving. Don't litter, break stuff, or interfere with traffic. If you are waiting for a ride, please wait inside the building.
- Don't use obscene language. Keep it clean!
- Don't crank the volume all the way up. If you have to rock it out, use a set of headphones.
- Don't be a spaz. This goes out to our younger gamers (as well as our less emotionally-developed older gamers). If you want to play with the big boys – and we know you have the skills – try really hard not to spaz out. Don't squeal. Don't scream. Don't sing the Barney song. Just settle down and play.
- Don't be a hater. We don't care what your malfunction is or who you're pissed off at. Do not spew your hate here at the stadium. Don't malign anyone's age, race, religion, gender, appearance, or intelligence level. If you can't say anything nice … shut up.
- Don't cheat, team kill, or break the rules. Gamers at the stadium play by the rules and they win by their wits and skills. This is how you earn respect.
- No horseplay or running around in the game center. If you want to engage in rough-housing or playing around on or with the furniture, there is a place not too far from here called Chuck E. Cheese. And please, only one person to a seat.
- Don't park your skateboard or bicycle directly in front of the door.
- Leave the romance for the high school dance. This isn't the love shack, so please keep your PDA's (Public Displays of Affection) out of the stadium!
- Illegal substances are not permitted on or near the premises. Good Karma goes a LONG way!
We've established these rules for the safety and comfort of all customers and to enhance the gaming experience for everyone. Period. We're not here to babysit you or your little brother. If you are under 17 we will treat you like an adult, until you prove us wrong. Any violation of these rules may result in one or more of the following: a warning, being asked to leave the premises, or having your membership revoked and being banned from the game center (sorry, no refunds). In most cases the actions that will be taken are as follows:
1st infraction – You will receive a warning
2nd infraction – You will be banned for one week
3rd infraction – You will be banned for one month
4th infraction – You will be banned permanently.
We also are not responsible for things beyond our control, including, but not limited to power and internet outages, lost or stolen items, etc. There will be no cash refunds. Video surveillance is in use to monitor inside the premises. These rules and policies are not all-inclusive and are subject to change as needed. Consent
Everyone who wishes to use our facilities must first read and sign a copy of these rules. You must also submit a Parental Consent Form signed by an adult (parent or legal guardian) if you are under the age of 18.
Parents
Children under 14 years of age should be accompanied by an adult. In addition, VideoGame Stadium fully supports the ESRB Rating system. If you only want your child to be able to play games suitable for their age as defined by the ESRB, please let us know and we will do what we can to restrict your child’s access to games outside your specified rating. Please be aware that even if you choose to restrict the types of games your child may play, they may still be exposed to imagery on the monitors around the game center that are beyond your specified rating.
(Example: If you restrict your child to “E – For Everyone” rated games, your child may still see imagery from other consoles where gamers are playing “M-Mature Audiences” rated games.)
All gamers under the age of 17 must have parental consent to participate in “M-Mature Audiences” rated games. VideoGame Stadium does not stock or allow “AO-Adults Only” games.
Those who are under the age of 17 are not permitted in the center for the purpose of gaming activities during Broward County School District hours unless accompanies by their parent or guardian.
